The book has more than 340 pages. Each Hanon is printed within the book in every key in music notation with a blank 'tab' line to write in your own tab (if needed). Additionally each Hanon is presented with 2 fully tabbed out examples (using a 'positional' approach and a 'modal' approach). There is no correct way to play the Hanons - you can modify my suggested fingerings to suit your own capabilities.
	The Bass Hanon Volume 1 midi pack zip file contains a midi file of all 20 Hanons in all 12 keys (yep, that's 240 midi files.) Each of those midi files has a 4 bar count in, then the Hanon played on a bass instrument and a chord so that you can subconsciously hear the notes of the Hanon against a harmonic background. Oh, and there's a simple 8th note drum track so you can keep time too! If you don't have midi software you can play these files in Quicktime - though you won't be able to mute any of the sounds or change the tempo. I'd recommend getting midi software - then you can cut and paste the Hanons in different keys together to make longer etudes. Very nice!
	The Bass Hanon Variations ebook (value $15) - premium version only - is a short ebook that takes one Hanon only and shows you how to take that simple Hanon exercise and adapt it an almost endless number of ways so that you can use that exercise to strengthen your areas of weakness. The simple answer is yes. Each of the Bass Hanons is presented in musical notation, so reading music is definitely an advantage. But two examples of each Bass Hanon are also included, fully tabbed out. One example takes a 'positional' approach. The second example takes a 'modal' approach. ALL of the Bass Hanons are included with a blank tab staff, so if needed you can print them out and transpose from the tabbed examples given - and write your own tab in! Oh, and there's also the Midi Files to listen to!
