Cracking The Detroit Code Testimonial - Ed Cortez

What Was The Biggest Obstacle In your Mind That Would Have Prevented You From Purchasing Cracking The Detroit Code? With anything musical, I want to make sure I'm going to get something from it if I'm paying hard earned cash. I've almost become skeptical of the description of any DVD and Course offering because I have several DVD's here that have taught me absolutely nothing though they've promised the world. I expect a little of the bass-ics in holding a guitar the correct way, etc. but I expect to also get at least one thing out of the lesson if I'm paying for it. Some of the "Advanced" things I've purchased.. I'd hate to see what their Novice is. Because of this, I tend to search out a lot of free lessons to attack at my own pace.
What Did You Find As A Result Of Buying Cracking The Detroit Code? First, I found quickly that my worries of not getting anything from the course were not a worry at all. I'm self taught on all things Bass and Music, so I actually have a feeling that my music playing ability is less than the musician who has had lessons from a knowledgeable teacher. The early lessons taught me that a lot of my basic ways of playing were there in plain sight in Motown. I've always loved Motown, but never realized what it had put within me until things started to be broken down like you did during the course. And it showed me how to break down things myself.
What Specific Feature Do you Like Most About Cracking The Detroit Code? The concept of deliberate practice. Though I haven't finished all of the lessons yet, I'm finding that using this technique is helping not only when practicing the lines, but even playing live (Practice or a gig). Because it's given me a comfort level to do a little more moving than I've allowed myself to do in the past. Again, going back to my lack of training from outside sources, I've always thought my "moves" were simplistic, but this pointed me in a different direction. Just open up, and you might surprise yourself.
What Would Be Other Benefits You Got From Cracking The Detroit Code? Confidence. I've played my first gig on the fly, I wouldn't have even ventured in that direction without the confidence I've gained. I'm even more thirsty for knowledge, that's why I'm answering your questions, I can't wait to see the additional content. Kind of going along with confidence, I've gained a little skill. I don't find that I need to search out the absolute best tab for a song and learn that tab note for note, I find that if the Chord structure is good, I'll fill in the rest.
Would You Recommend Cracking The Detroit Code? Yes, Not only CTDC but I've recommended the site and the knowledge you have out there. I'm sure I can answer this even more completely when I've finished the course, but I see how it can help the beginner even faster. I've learned a little music along the way. Not just the songs, but I have a better understanding why things are structured a certain way. Because of your natural musical speech when it comes to structure. Again, without training, a lot of things were Greek to me. I've picked up on some of the things you've said and combining it with the right written description, I'm starting to understand the circle of 5ths. I had no idea everything was right there in a row. Again, probably basic theory, but no one ever showed me. Now I understand what's there (for Major Keys at least)
Anything Else You'd Like To Add? Keep your site going. We've had some email conversations and I've had no idea the amount of time you put into your packages beyond just selling them, but I get it now. Money is nice, but I get the feeling you do it to keep the knowledge alive as much as possible. It's not just play G, C and D.. it's an explanation of why they go together.
Paul, thanks for this program and the available content on your website.
